Common problems and easy repairs on a 1999 K3500
The 1999 Chevrolet C/K 3500 LS is a very truck car to maintain. Removing the air filter is an easy process. You only need to disengage a few fasteners in order to lift the cover of the housing for access to the filter. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. The brake fluid level is also easy to check, as the fluid reservoir is very visible in the engine bay.
Some things are difficult on the 1999 Chevrolet C/K3500 LS. To access the spare tire, you will need to lower it from beneath the vehicle. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time and be difficult to turn. Checking the engine coolant fluid level is tough, as the maximum and minimum level markers are located deep in the engine bay. Accessing the power steering fluid level is tough, as the fluid reservoir is located deep in the engine bay.
