Common problems and easy repairs on a 2000 RAV4

The 2000 Toyota RAV4 is a very easy car to maintain, and a good choice for the average car owner. Accessing the headlight with reliability is no problem, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to replace on this vehicle. Other models will require you to use tools to replace the blades, so it’s a nice touch to be able to change these blades with just your hands. Checking the engine coolant fluid level is easy to do, as the fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay.

Some things are tougher to repair on the 2000 Toyota RAV4. The components of the jack kit are located in separate places on this vehicle. While access to one section is easy, the other requires you to move one of the front seats in order to access. You will need some tools you may not have readily available in order to access the center brake light on this car. Most models make this light an LED bulb, and it is more difficult to have to replace this on a regular basis. You will have to remove the bulb housing in order to access the front turn signal bulb. This will require the removal of a screw which can be tough, as the screw can grow rusted to the vehicle over time.
