Common problems and easy repairs on a 2002 Ram 1500

The 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 is a relatively easy car to maintain, and a good choice for the average car owner. The engine air filter is easy to reliabily access, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners in order to lift the housing. Other models will make this access much more problematic. Accessing the fog light is easy, as you only have to reach underneath the vehicle for access to the bulb. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

Some things are tougher to repair on the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. You will need many tools in order to remove the headlight housing for access to the bulb. The requirement of these tools make this repair much more cumbersome. In order to remove the tail light housing you will have to remove torx bolts first. You may not have the tools necessary readily available for a repair. Checking the power steering fluid level can be tough, as the fluid reservoir is not located in an easily visible spot in the engine bay.
