Common problems and easy repairs on a 2006 Forester

The 2006 Subaru Forester X is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain and a good choice for the average vehicle owner. Changing the engine air filter with reliability is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. Checking the oil level is no problem, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

Some things are problematic on the 2006 Subaru Forester X. You will have to completely remove the glove box for access to the cabin air filter. This will require many tools you may not have readily available for a repair. Changing the fog light can be tough, as you will need to use a few tools in order to peel down a panel from under the vehicle for access. You will have to completely remove the tail light housing for access to the tail light bulbs. Other models will make this access easier to complete.
