Consumer Review Video - 2009 Mazda 5 Sport 2.3L 4 Cyl.

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2009 5

The 2009 Mazda 5 Sport is a moderately easy vehicle to maintain, but is more recommended to those with the proper tools. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy to do, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay.

Some things are problematic on the 2009 Mazda 5 Sport. You will need more tools than usual for access to the engine air filter. The tools may not be readily available for a repair. Changing the front turn signal bulb can be tough, as you will have to reach through the wheel well lining for access to the assembly. To change the reverse light, you will have to remove the entire taillight housing first. This will require you to peel back covers.
