Consumer Review Video - 2013 Volkswagen Beetle 2.5L 5 Cyl. Convertible (2 Door)

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2013 Beetle

The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle is a rather difficult vehicle to maintain. You’ll need to use many different tools to remove multiple components in order to reach the engine air filter, which won’t allow for reliable filter changes. Accessing the oil drain plug may be a problem, as you’ll first have to work upside-down while underneath the vehicle to remove a large panel that covers it. The brake fluid reservoir is also in an obstructed position that will be difficult to reach.

However, the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle does have its upsides. The spare tire and jack kit are stored in the rear of the vehicle and make for quick and reliable access when servicing a flat. Monitoring the engine coolant won’t be a problem on account of the unobstructed access to the reservoir. The oil level is also easy to check thanks to the open access to the dipstick.
