Common problems and easy repairs on a 2014 Sierra 1500

The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE V6 is a pretty easy pickup truck to maintain. Connecting your phone via Bluetooth is easy as there are easy to follow prompts in the electronic menu. Many other models make this process much more difficult. The tail lights are very easy to change, as the tail light housing is very easy to remove. Checking the oil level is easy as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

Not everything is perfect on the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE V6. To access the headlight on one side, you will have to remove the air filter housing first. This is a difficult process, making a quick bulb change impossible. Accessing the spare tire is more difficult than it is on smaller vehicles, as you will have to lower the tire from beneath the vehicle first. This can be tough, as the components of the lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time. Removing the battery can be tough, as you’ll have to remove a sway bar first. Other vehicles do not include this step.
