Consumer Review Video - 2016 GMC Canyon SLT 3.6L V6 Crew Cab Pickup

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2016 Canyon

The 2016 GMC Canyon SLT is a relatively difficult car to maintain, and is only recommended for someone capable of vehicle maintenance. To access the petcock for a coolant drain, you will have to remove a large panel from under the vehicle first. This will require you to contend with gravity as you complete. You will have to remove torx bolts in order to change the center brake light. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. To access the spare tire, you will have to lower it from under the vehicle. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle and be difficult to turn.

Some things are easier on the 2016 GMC Canyon SLT. The engine coolant fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Connecting the Bluetooth is no problem, as there are clear steps in the electronic menu that will allow you to connect your phone with reliability. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is reliably accessible in the engine bay.
