Common problems and easy repairs on a 2016 Tacoma
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5 is a moderately easy vehicle to maintain, but is recommended to those experienced in vehicle maintenance. Changing the headlight is no problem, as you only have to reach behind the housing for reliable access to the bulb. The engine air filter is easy to replace, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.
Some things are more problematic to maintain on the 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5. You will have to lower the tire from under the vehicle for access to it. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time and be difficult to turn. Changing the front wiper blade will require the use of a tool. Other models will not require the use of tools for changing your wiper blades. The engine coolant reservoir is not overly visible on this vehicle. That can make it difficult to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
